Voltage launched a revolving credit line that lets businesses send Bitcoin payments without holding crypto on their balance sheets.
Voltage Credit went live February 19 for qualified U.S. businesses. The product facilitated a ₱58.05 million ($1 million) Lightning Network payment between Secure Digital Markets and Kraken, settling in seconds. Companies draw only what they need from the credit line and pay interest solely on outstanding balances, with zero origination fees.
The structure sidesteps traditional settlement delays by allowing enterprises to send payments that clear in seconds. Businesses repay in dollars rather than Bitcoin, which Voltage said simplifies treasury operations and accounting. Available credit restores automatically after repayment, mirroring how corporate revolving credit lines work.
Credit limits depend on revenue-oriented underwriting tied to transaction volume through Voltage infrastructure. The product supports both Lightning Network and on-chain Bitcoin transactions without requiring businesses to pre-fund accounts or carry cryptocurrency on their books. Voltage positioned the service as relevant for both crypto-native companies and traditional enterprises exploring Bitcoin payment infrastructure.
Voltage already powers enterprise-grade Lightning nodes, liquidity, and payment processing for clients including THNDR Games, Podcast Index, and Amboss. Voltage CEO Graham Krizek founded the company in October 2020 after contributing to Bitcoin Core and working at Salesforce. The company raised ₱348.28 million ($6 million) in seed funding in January 2022 from Trammell Venture Partners, Craft Ventures, GV, and Stillmark.
