Bitcoin dropped below $65,000 in early Asian trading Monday, shedding more than 5% as traders scrambled to exit positions.
The selloff triggered ₱26.94 billion ($464 million) in liquidations across the crypto market over 24 hours. 82% of those liquidations hit within a single four-hour window. The largest single liquidation order totaled ₱3.57 billion ($61.5 million) on X exchange, according to CoinGecko data.
Bitcoin is now down 26% year-to-date and has shed over 47% of its value since topping $125,000 last October. Pseudonymous trader DonAlt warned Bitcoin would need a daily close above $71,000 to avoid a slow bleed lower. That level now sits nearly 10% above current prices.
Fidelity's Jurrien Timmer identified $60,000 as the bottom of the current bearish cycle, suggesting Bitcoin could find technical support around that threshold. Some analysts expect deeper capitulation, with targets ranging from $42,000 to $45,000 if selling pressure continues.
SkyBridge Capital CEO Anthony Scaramucci and MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor both admitted Bitcoin was in a bear market. The acknowledgment from two prominent Bitcoin bulls marks a shift in tone after months of price declines.
The White House announced plans Saturday to raise global tariffs to 15%, adding macro uncertainty to an already fragile market. Michael Saylor's recent comments signal the bear market acknowledgment reached $45,000 analyst targets as a realistic capitulation level.
