Bitcoin ETFs sa US, ‘Dumugo’ ng ₱493.4 Bilyon ($8.5B) Mula noong Peak ng Oktubre

US spot Bitcoin ETFs hemorrhaged ₱502.69 billion ($8.66 billion) since October's peak, a massive reversal from the flood of institutional money that once pushed cumulative inflows to ₱3.66 trillion ($63 billion).

The cohort saw outflows on 55 out of 89 days since Bitcoin's all-time high last October. Combined assets under management now stand at $98.33 billion, with iShares Bitcoin Trust leading at $57.01 billion, followed by Fidelity Bitcoin Trust at $13.94 billion and Grayscale Bitcoin Trust at $12.58 billion. Bloomberg Intelligence ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted that cumulative net inflows remain at $54.31 billion despite the recent withdrawals.

Bitcoin crashed more than 40% from its October peak. CME futures exposure collapsed two-thirds from its late-2024 peak to roughly $8 billion, signaling institutional traders are pulling back across multiple venues simultaneously. Coinbase now trades at a discount to Binance, a clear sign of sustained US selling pressure as domestic institutions retreat.

Mid-January offered a brief reprieve when the ETF cohort recorded $760 million in single-day inflows, the largest since October. Fidelity contributed a large chunk of that surge. But the broader trend remained grim — US equity funds posted $1.42 billion in net outflows during the week ending February 11 as rate-cut uncertainty and AI spending anxiety rattled risk assets.

European crypto ETF investors moved in the opposite direction, maintaining net inflows during two consecutive weeks in February despite Bitcoin's 22% year-to-date decline. European institutions focused on tightening risk controls and prioritizing liquidity rather than abandoning positions entirely. The last extended outflow streak hit in March 2025 when Bitcoin traded around $82,000.
