XRP pulled in $150 million in fresh capital this year while Bitcoin and Ethereum hemorrhaged $1.5 billion combined, according to CoinShares data.

The sentiment shift pushed XRP to a 5-week high on Feb. 18, the same day Coinbase quietly added it as collateral for loans up to $100,000. The largest US exchange rolled out support for XRP alongside DOGE, ADA, and LTC through its lending platform. A Coinbase spokesperson said the tokens were chosen based on the ability to bring them onto Base and the Morpho protocol, plus how much customers already hold on the platform.

Not everyone shares the bullish view. Standard Chartered slashed its end-2026 XRP price target from $8.00 to $2.80 this month. The bank's digital-assets research team warned of further declines across the entire crypto asset class, tempering expectations for the token despite its recent inflow strength.

Ripple has been layering institutional infrastructure onto the XRP Ledger to capitalize on regulatory clarity. The company runs Ripple Payments for settlement, Ripple Custody for safeguarding assets, and Ripple Prime for institutional brokerage. XRPL also offers Permissioned Domains for regulated access, a credential-gated DEX, and token escrow tools designed for compliance-heavy environments. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse put the odds of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act passing by April at 80 percent.

Santiment blockchain analytics flagged the Feb. 18 sentiment spike as traders rotated out of Bitcoin and Ethereum into alts. XRP ETF assets hit $1.6 billion in early January after a 45-day inflow streak, though outflows began by late January as enthusiasm cooled. Still, the token's year-to-date performance stands in sharp contrast to the major-cap bleeding. Standard Chartered maintains a $28 price target for XRP by 2030.
